What is Trace API and what can I use it for?
Trace API provides detailed transaction tracing: it reveals internal calls, execution paths, and hidden transfers inside a smart contract. With API tracing you can analyze complex transactions, audit contract behavior, and track API calls happening inside each execution step.
What is Debug API?
Debug API allows you to emulate and inspect a transaction before or after it’s mined.
It helps developers understand gas usage, detect execution issues, and replay transaction results.
Debug API is commonly used for smart-contract diagnostics, testing, and advanced troubleshooting.
Can I use Trace API and Debug API for free?
Yes. Simply sign up on NOWNodes, activate the Starter plan, choose up to 5 blockchains, and you’ll be able to make Debug API and API trace requests right away.
The Starter plan includes full access to Trace API, Debug API, and core API tracing features.
What if Trace API or Debug API isn’t available for the network I need?
If the required chain doesn’t currently support Trace API or Debug API, you can request it by contacting our sales team — in many cases, we may already be working on adding Track API and tracing support for that network.
If you need Debug API access urgently or expect high-volume workloads, you can request a dedicated node with any available methods enabled, including full API tracing and custom Debug API configurations.
