Welcome to our report! This article we dedicate to the vechain Network – a Layer 1 network that focuses on bringing public good for the blockchain industry with environmentally friendly practices and unique value to enterprises.
Our team invites you to learn more about vechain achievements at NOWNodes – vechain node API provider and an ecosystem contributor. We will dive deeper into technical accomplishments of the network, most important numbers and what’s coming next.
Vechain RPC Node Usage: New Heights
Our service includes shared and dedicated access to the Vechain node API. This application programming interface provides developers and enterprises with required on-chain data to utilize it in, for instance, supply chain systems. Additionally, it has capacities for smart contract deployment. We are going to talk about use cases a little bit later.
Based on our internal statistics, our vechain RPC Full Nodes processed 1 400 million RPC requests to the main vechain RPC endpoint from January to the beginning of December 2023. Each quarter the demand for access to the vechain ledger data has only been growing: from around 240 million requests in Q1 to almost 392 million calls in Q4.
Summer was hot for NOWNodes and vechain: the third quarter of 2023 was the busiest for our vechain nodes as we recorded the spike of calls and requests from builders. Looks like the trend will continue in the early 2024.

The numbers that we displayed in the graph above do not include the numbers of vechain RPC full nodes’ usage on the dedicated access. We do not collect nor count them according to our Terms and Conditions.
Who used vechain in 2023?
Our vechain RPC Full Nodes have been utilized by numerous enterprises and individual developers. Some of them debuted this year, but the overall trend stayed the same. Let’s take a look.

Our team onboarded more crypto exchanges and web3 wallets that began utilizing vechain and supported VET transactions and integrations via vechain node API. Although we cannot disclose the exact names and number of them, we can share the rate of the most popular web3 tools and platforms that integrated our vechain endpoints.
Based on our internal requests, we see more use cases coming to the vechain network, and that is definitely a good sign!
How we contributed to the vechain ecosystem?
As we recorded a higher volume of requests to vechain blockchain data, this July our team adjusted the node capacities and performed several improvements. Overall, the connection became 11,4 times faster as we enhanced our infrastructure. This is another step to the zero latency program that includes vechain and many other networks.
Our team had a great time working with vechain ecosystem: we invited Sebastian Seijo from vechain team for our AMA session this spring to talk about vechain achievements, VeWorld and VORJ. Make sure you watch it before 2024 on our YouTube channel!
We continue our support of the vechain ecosystem and have lots of plans for 2024. Stay tuned!
How to connect to vechain via NOWNodes?
In order to build on vechain and integrate VET coin, you need to use a specific endpoint to perform on-chain activities.
Just follow the simple steps below to get your private vechain RPC API key and get the access to vechain mainnet through NOWNodes.
- Visit the NOWNodes website (www.nownodes.io) and sign up for a new account.
- As you have signed up, you are going to be proposed to choose the tariff plan. You have the option to easily choose a FREE plan, which grants you immediate access to a vechain full node.
- If you have selected the free plan, you will then be allowed to choose 5 blockchains from a selection of almost 90. Scroll down to select the vechain RPC node. Click the “ADD” button in front of the VET Ticker to connect to the vechain network.
- The next step is to navigate to “DASHBOARD” in your account and scroll down the page. Simply push the button “ADD NEW KEY” and your own API key will be added automatically. This private API key could be used as a vechain node API or for any other blockchains from the chosen list.
- Once you get your vechain API key, you can use it to generate requests to the vechain. Check all the available vechain methods in the NOWNodes postman and interact with your platform by using the available endpoints.
Conclusion
- Vechain presented continuous growth of node load and usage in 2023;
- Q3 ‘23 was the busiest period for our vechain RPC full nodes;
- Vechain RPC Full Nodes had improvements and are now supported by new infrastructure which makes the connection almost 12 times faster.
